Y - God qualifies those who are not qualified - Episode 14 of 30

Episode 14 of 30

From being a Regular executive to becoming the Youth President!

First time visiting my blog! You are welcome. I already love you so much!

Meanwhile, this particular episode is a continuation of episode 12. Pls, go back to read the previous episodes, then you will find out some interesting thing about this blogger!!!

I became the youth president with little or no leadership experience. You might be wondering how that concerns you!! (I mean, not everyone is thrilled to be in a leadership position) However, regardless of the position I find myself in, I view it as a privilege to represent Jesus. (If Jesus were to be here, what would he do if he were asked to come lead the people into God’s presence) I bet, Jesus wouldn’t say NO!

…After much deliberation and prayer on what God would have me do about the position of Youth President, I decided to accept it. Now, let me tell you, my prayer was not that I should become the Youth president or not, but it was me telling God how unqualified I was and why He shouldn't choose me. In my head, I thought why can't God choose someone else who is more equipped and more spiritual than I am? Well, God answered my prayer by allowing me to go through the process of becoming the youth president, and in there he taught me what I could never have learned had it been I refused to be the youth president.

This brings me to the passage in; Romans 8:30 “And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” I believe this words became reality in Joshua's life when he took over from Moses. And the Lord had him installed as Israel’s new leader. After the death of Moses, the next thing the bible recorded was Joshua being encouraged by God, because he was called to lead. There was no prior account of whether Joshua was discouraged or felt unqualified to assume the role of a leader. All we know is God recounting his promises for the children of Israel, and the next thing in verse six was God telling Joshua to be courageous.

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. (Joshua 1:6 NIV)

One thing for sure is that Joshua must have had hidden feelings of imperfection to feel qualified as a leader, knowing that he would be leading a large population, and there are possibilities that this group of people might or might not obey his leadership. That was the feeling I had when I was asked to be the youth president.

For those reading this episode, who are feeling unqualified over what God has invited you to do or a God centre decision you are to take. I just want you to believe and trust God. Be courageous and follow the Lord blindly. If you are like me and scared of following blindly, just follow intentionally. Follow God and forget about your small qualifications and little knowledge.

Accept the invitation and embrace all he wants you to do. Just like Joshua, who felt unqualified, yet, God asked him to take over Moses' role as the new leader.

"The height of leadership is not found in leading. True guidance unfolds when we learn the beauty of servanthood."
