H -My first Airplane

 Episode 7 of 30

The excitement and anxiety of traveling on air!!!

At age 17, I flew my first airplane ✈️… the teenager in me wouldn’t stop anticipating a new life that awaited me…together with the fact that I recently became Jesus lover. I was eager to share my newfound passion with Christ with others I would meet in the new country.

I can never forget the first food served on the plane; it was obviously Egyptian food. Eww, I said, I turned to look at my Dad. He was not eating, just like me, then looked at my mom. She was digging and eating and enjoying the meal. I told her I couldn’t eat; she said you might as well start getting used to the food because that will be your new menu in Egypt.

Oh, I missed my snacks (I was a snackyyy girl). Eating home-cooked meals was stressful for me; I would rather eat junk than a home meal. Together with the fact that I didn’t want to add weight, hahaha 🤪….

Arrived at Cairo, Egypt!!! {Yippee!!! I said in my mind, Here comes Jesus lover, who is about to change anyone changeable}. Anyways, The beautiful lighting around the airport and all over just before landing the airport was incredible. I imagined so much beautiful life awaiting me and was looking forward to a drama-free lifestyle! Families and friends were happy to welcome me as my mom had told them many stories about me.

One of my favourite night memories was with a big brother of mine (Bro Ife). It was like I found a brother whom I had been searching for.. it was so easy to click with him..we were filling out different immigration forms online with my laptop, and I remembered he was the first to show me how to copy and paste passwords. That 🤣 sounds silly, right! But I always remember that day. I mean, I was just 17 years old and not very computer-literate.

As a new Jesus lover, I had so many gospel songs downloaded on my phone, and I would listen to them repeatedly! Together with Bro Ife. I loved those days!!!

A few months after I arrived in Egypt, I got admission into a private university in Cairo called Modern University, and everything changed! 😭

Let's talk about the change in Episode 8
