F- Dedicated Church goer!

  Episode 3 of 30

Even though I was still confused about both religions, I was a dedicated churchgoer!

By age 13-14, I had gone to live with an aunt who was also a Pentecostal, and I was attending her church (Mountain of Fire). The one thing I remember about this church was that I couldn't go without covering my hair. I can't make that mistake; otherwise, I would do church from outside the building. I am not condemning the church tradition because I absolutely love it. Some of their rigorous traditions shaped me to eventually find my FAITH.

That being said, I was a churchgoer, and I love everything related to going to church, especially (night vigils). Night vigils are programs designed for church members to come together in one place for prayers. More like Act 2: 1, the day of Pentecost.

Anyway, before moving to live with my Aunt, who is a Christian, I was already adopted into the dual religion lifestyle. Even though my mother had converted to Christianity before she got married, the majority of her family had not. Her father obviously had two wives, all practicing different types of religion. It definitely was hard for my mother to keep her Christian faith and pass it on to her children, knowing that she still has the obligation as a Christian to love those who profess different faiths.

More-so, she didn't really have what we call a "discipler," someone who would nurture her in her newly converted religion.

As I do not want to bore you with my stories, I think we should pause here and pick up from episode 4
